This recipe for Korean Braised Tofu offers a delicious fusion of sweet and savory flavors. Seared to perfection, the tofu slices are then simmered in a flavorful sauce until they absorb every last bit of goodness. Ingredients:

  • 1 block firm tofu, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds

Instructions:

Pat dry the tofu slices with paper towels to remove excess moisture

In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger

Heat a skillet over medium heat and add the tofu slices

Cook until lightly browned on both sides, about 3 minutes per side

Pour the sauce over the tofu slices in the skillet

Add chopped green onions

Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 5-7 minutes until tofu absorbs the flavors

Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds before serving
