Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 bratwurst sausages
- 1/2 cup beer your choice
- 4 hamburger buns
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup sauerkraut
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 4 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 4 tbsp mayonnaise
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat
In a small saucepan, simmer the bratwurst sausages in the beer for about 10 minutes
Remove from heat
Grill the bratwurst sausages and sliced onions on the preheated grill, turning occasionally, until they are nicely browned and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes
While the sausages and onions are grilling, shape the ground beef into 4 burger patties and season with salt and pepper
Grill the burger patties on the hot grill for about 4-5 minutes per side or until they reach your desired level of doneness
During the last minute of grilling, add a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty to melt
Spread Dijon mustard on the bottom half of each hamburger bun and mayonnaise on the top half
Assemble the burgers by placing a grilled bratwurst sausage on the bottom bun, followed by a burger patty with melted cheese, sauted onions, and sauerkraut
Place the top bun on each burger to complete the assembly
Serve hot with your favorite sides and enjoy
