Deliciously Easy English Lavender Shortbread

Facesitting Mistress St Albans

These English Lavender Shortbread cookies are a treat for the senses, delectably buttery and fragrant with lavender. Theyre easy to make and delicious with a cup of tea.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons culinary lavender, finely chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions:

Put the softened butter and granulated sugar in a large bowl and mix them together until they are light and fluffy

When you add the chopped culinary lavender to the butter and sugar, mix it in well

Add the all-purpose flour and salt and sift them in

Mix until you get a crumbly dough

Place the dough on a lightly floured surface and knead it slowly until it comes together

Make a log out of the dough that is about 2 inches across

Cover it with plastic wrap and put it in the fridge for at least an hour

Warm the oven up to 325F 165C

Put parchment paper on the bottom of a baking sheet

To prepare the baking sheet, cut the chilled dough into rounds that are about 1/4 inch thick

When the oven is hot, put the shortbread in it for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown

After taking the shortbread out of the oven, let it cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before moving it to a wire rack to cool all the way down

The lavender shortbread is ready to be eaten once it has cooled down
